Canadian Cluster Data

Welcome to the Institute's Canadian Cluster Data portal, a project that provides open data on Canadian regional clusters and economies to support Canadian business, economic development and public policy.

You will find interactive data on employment, wages, and location quotients to understand clusters and regional business environments, improve regional development policies, and locate business partners across the country. The portal also features Cluster Linkages for each of the traded clusters.

The Institute has collaborated with the Harvard-based Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness to measure clusters in Canada, the 10 provinces and 33 Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs) in a manner consistent with their measurement of the U.S. clusters. For further information on the U.S. clusters, visit the U.S. Cluster Mapping Project at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness.

Please note that as of May 17, 2019, the Institute will no longer be updating the cluster data.
