Dorinda So

Research Director

Dorinda is the Research Director of the Institute. She was the Conference Director for the 21st TCI Network Global Conference (TCI 2018)

Her academic background is as multifaceted as her work experience. Dorinda holds a Master’s degree in Socio-Legal Studies from York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Political Science from the University of Toronto Scarborough. She has worked in a multitude of industries, including automotive, finance, real estate, and most recently health care in strategy and policy roles. She joined the Institute in 2012 as a Researcher and returned in 2015 as Research Director. 

Her research interests include health care, education, precarious employment, clusters, and transit policy. 

Dorinda is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). 

In addition to her passion for travelling, Dorinda enjoys working with students and youth and has spent 5+ years mentoring students in a formal capacity. She is an active alum of the University of Toronto. She is currently serving a three-year term as the Vice President of Student Engagement with the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) Alumni Association and is a member of the University of Toronto's College of Electors. She is also the recipient of the Arbor Award, given to members of the University of Toronto community for their volunteerism.
