Ontario Urged to Look at Sweden to Prosper

Ontario is being urged to cut costs for corporations and gut its tax system if it wants to prosper in the years ahead.

The Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity says Ontario can look to Sweden for inspiration.

It says while some may balk at the high tax burden in Sweden, it is hard to argue against the proposition that it has a smart tax system.

A study makes a number of recommendations, including the elimination of corporate income taxes and a move to a personal income tax system based on lifetime, not annual, earnings.
